The 5th Annual Kent Turkey Challenge is a community effort to help support the Kent Food Bank. Positioned as a friendly competition to collect and raise the most food and monetary donations, the challenge inspires local businesses and organizations to provide support to those in need during the holidays. Back for its fifth year, the Kent Turkey Challenge is aspiring to hit an all-time high with the amount of organizations participating and donations raised – help us make our goal a reality!

Our goals this year:

  • 10,000 pounds in food donations
  • $25,000 in monetary donations

So far we are at:

  • 4,522 pounds in food donations
  • $10,281 in monetary donations

The Kent Food Bank receives 100 percent of the proceeds from Kent Turkey Challenge.

As we’ve mentioned, the Kent Turkey Challenge would not be possible without our dedicated sponsors. This sponsor spotlight goes to the Kent Downtown Partnership. We would like to thank the Kent Downtown Partnership for their continued support of Kent Turkey Challenge. As an organization that focuses on revitalizing the historic part of downtown Kent, Washington, their participation in the Kent Turkey Challenge shows how much the Kent community means to them.

We asked the Kent Downtown Partnership (KDP) a few questions about their involvement with the Kent Turkey Challenge, and Executive Director Barbara Smith gave us some answers.

Torklift Central: What prompted your involvement with the Kent Turkey Challenge and why?
KDP: We want to help feed those less fortunate.

Torklift Central: How many years has your organization been involved/participated in the Kent Turkey Challenge?
KDP: I believe this will be our third year.

Support community families during Thanksgiving
