These truck camper tie downs are sold in a pair of two. To outfit a truck camper, one pair of truck camper downs are required for the front of the truck camper and one pair of truck camper tie downs are required for the rear of the truck. How to Install D3109 | Ram 3500 Camper Tie Downs by Torklift
Torklift frame-mounted tie downs are designed to fit specific vehicle makes and models and consists of two parts. The two parts include: a tie down bracket that attaches to your vehicle and a removable insert that that goes into the receiver or bracket. The tie down insert is held in place with a pin and clip so that it can be installed and removed easily. That means with Torklift tie downs, you don’t compromise any ground clearance and they are hidden when not in use. Simply remove the insert when not hauling your camper. When the insert is removed, the receiver or bracket stays tucked away and out of sight underneath your truck.
When used with any of our fully springloaded turnbuckles, Torklift warranties the truck frame and camper anchor points for the extent of the manufacturer warranty. Q: I think I need the D3109 rear truck camper tie down on my Dodge – how do I know if I have a welded-on factory hitch which will serve as the tie down mounting point?
A: From the factory, Dodge Ram used a round cross tube that was integrated into the frame. The round cross tube goes from the frame where it is bolted down and around the spare tire and bumper area. If the receiver and chain plate section are welded to the cross tube in this section, you have the factory welded trailer hitch. If you see bolts in this area, it is an aftermarket trailer hitch. D3109 truck camper tie downs will still install in both cases. If anything is different, please provide pictures to Torklift to determine proper fitment.
Q: Is the D3109 rear truck camper tie down compatible with the rear under-bumper kick-out step option on some Dodge trucks?
A: As of September 2023, the current configuration of D3109 is not compatible with this truck option because the step and the truck camper tie down must have enough space under the bumper for clearance.
Q: I need to upgrade my factory hitch to the SuperHitch. Will my D3109 rear truck camper tie-downs that I had installed with my factory hitch be compatible?
A: No. Since upgrading to the Super Hitch, additional plates are attached to the bottom of the frame, which will interfere with the placement of the rear tie-down.
