Rear Receiver Hitch for Airstream Basecamp 16' Owners – Tow, Carry Bikes & More!
TailoredHitch is the only hitch receiver for your Basecamp 16' that is exclusively designed to fit your Airstream trailer. Unlike other universal Basecamp hitch alternatives that don't really fit your trailer. Featuring the world's only stainless steel receiver (patent pending) means it will never rust, protecting your garage floor and concrete driveway from stubborn orange stains that are impossible to remove. The TailoredHitch for Basecamp 16' is designed to offer maximum ground clearance - the hitch receiver is angled upward to keep bike racks, cargo trays, and other hitch accessories level and avoid scraping on driveways.
This Basecamp receiver hitch has a 300 pound tongue weight at the trailer ball*** making it the highest rated Basecamp hitch on the market. This increased tongue weight makes this hitch perfect for hauling bikes, generators, extra camping gear, or any other essentials for your Airstream adventures.

2016 Airstream Basecamp 16' trailer rear receiver hitchTailoredHitch made to fit Airstream Basecamp 16' trailers:
*WARNING: Use of a trailer hitch on Airstream Basecamp, Bambi, and any other single axle trailers may require a ballast weight added to the front area of the trailer (interior or exterior) toward the trailer tongue to maintain proper tongue weight for safe towing* and to offset what you plan to carry at the rear of your trailer with your trailer hitch. This trailer hitch is not rated for towing behind your Basecamp, Bambi, or other single axle trailers.
*10% of your overall trailer weight should be tongue weight. If you for example have a single axle trailer weights 3,000 pounds fully loaded, you should have approximately 300 pounds tongue weight.
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
While EcoHitch®️ trailer hitches are built with high-strength materials and tested for exceptional weight ratings, your vehicle’s factory towing capacities are the ultimate limit. Always refer to your vehicle’s owner’s manual to determine its maximum towing and tongue weight ratings. No aftermarket hitch or accessory can increase your vehicle’s factory-rated towing capacities.
Using hauling accessories like extensions, cargo trays, bike racks, or other accessories that extend the load out from the trailer hitch, will significantly reduce the tongue weight capacity of your hitch system.
To estimate how your setup will affect tongue weight, we recommend using our Maximum Hitch Weight (Tongue Weight) Estimator before hauling your payload (cargo trays, bike racks, etc).
Disclaimer:It is the user’s responsibility to ensure safe towing practices and to confirm that all loads fall within the limits of the lowest-rated component in the towing system. Torklift is not liable for any damage or injury resulting from the misuse or overloading of towing/hauling equipment.
