The 2020-2023 Tesla Model Y tow hitch is here and it doesn’t have to cost you $1,200 direct from the Tesla factory!
This EcoHitch features our Invisi-design which means the hitch is hidden behind the knock-out panel in the rear of the Tesla Model Y, so when you are not using your hitch - cover it up by locking your knock-out panel back into place to restore it to its factory design.
This Tesla Model Y trailer hitch is rated at 3,500lbs towing capacity and 350lbs tongue weight capacity. Tongue weight capacity pertains to hauling weight - for example this would include the weight of your bike rack and bikes.
The Tesla Model Y tow hitch features a 2” receiver which is the most universal receiver size for accessories including bike racks and cargo trays. This means you don’t have to use an adapter sleeve with your hitch and accessories - which often results in a rattling noise you will regret immediately in your quiet Tesla.
Kit comes with trailer hitch crossbar and receiver system as well as all mounting hardware.

2020-2023 Tesla Model Y hitch features:
Many folks have already ordered their Tesla Model Y from the factory without the factory tow hitch and have been disappointed that they can’t alter the design of their Tesla to include the factory tow hitch while others have been disappointed at the cost of the factory hitch being priced at $1,200.
Torklift Central EcoHitch® has been designing and building custom trailer hitches for Tesla since 2012 since the launch of the Tesla Roadster. With tens of thousands of EcoHitches being used across the world you can rest assured we stand behind our Tesla Model Y tow hitch.
Rated at 3,500lbs towing capacity and 350lbs tongue weight at the trailer ball, the trailer hitch will not be the limiting factor when it comes to taking your bicycle or other belongings with you. Another thing that is great about this trailer hitch is you do not have to have ugly fabric support straps attached to the hitch to achieve the weight ratings. Always consult your vehicle owners guide for towing information.
Trailer Hitch Style
Our EcoHitch® line comes in three styles: Stealth, Hidden and Invisi. The Tesla Model Y trailer hitch features our Invisi Design. All EcoHitch® models are precision manufactured to have hidden cross tubes and receivers when installed. The only part of this Invisi-Style hitch that is ever visible is the receiver when in use. When not using this Tesla Model Y tow hitch, simply insert your factory knock out panel back in front of the hitch and your hitch is invisible. Nothing to see here Houdini. Plus – this hitch has the highest level of ground clearance possible. What it boils down to? No jumbo metal hitch hanging down low behind and below your rear bumper. Plus you can trick everyone when you are not using your hitch – because they can’t see it. So invisible, you will forget it is there.
Hitch Receiver Size
This Tesla Model Y trailer hitch is made to accommodate your bike rack, cargo trays and hauling needs. It features a 2 inch receiver opening which is the most common size for all your carrying needs. However, we also have it available in the less common 1 ¼-inch option as well.
It was designed with simplicity in mind. It features a 100 percent bolt on installation which means you don’t drill into your frame at all during your Model Y hitch installation – we use existing mounting locations that work with the design of your Y. This leads us to another reason you want this hitch – it does not interrupt the aerodynamics of your vehicle’s design because it is tucked behind your bumper and prevents you from having to mount your bikes and other cargo on your roof.
EcoHitch® trailer hitch strength
This Tesla Model Y trailer hitch is rated at 350 pounds tongue weight at the trailer ball and 3,500 pounds towing weight.** It is coated in high impact powder coat featuring our Chasm Black finish. The powder coating process for our EcoHitch® is time intensive and includes sand blasting which is something other manufacturers fail to do. All our hitches are sand blasted to ensure the metal is clean and ensures the strongest bond between the metal and the powder coating to allow for long lasting durability. The material used in this Tesla Model Y trailer hitch can include a combination of up to three 100% recycled and recyclable materials including aerospace grade aluminum, stainless steel and steel.
American Made with a REAL Warranty
This Tesla Model Y trailer hitch is proudly made in America and backed by our Legendary Lifetime Warranty. We do not mess around with this warranty. When you call us you get an actual person who is knowledgeable about the product and can walk you through an installation if you choose to install this hitch yourself.
**Although your EcoHitch® tongue weight and tow weight rating might be exceedingly high – this is because we build our hitches to withstand all kinds of beatings – your vehicle’s towing capacity could be lower. Please consult your vehicle’s owners manual to determine your factory tow weight rating and never exceed it. No aftermarket products can increase your factory tow weight rating. If your vehicle's tow rating is less than the rated towing capacity on your EcoHitch® trailer hitch, your trailer hitch capacity is limited to your vehicle's factory rated towing capacity. Please check your owner’s manual to confirm your vehicle is rated to tow. As a general rule, the use of extensions, hitch adapters, bike racks, cargo trays and other towing accessories can reduce the tongue weight capacity / vertical load capacity of your vehicle’s receiver hitch. When extensions, hitch adapters, bike racks, cargo trays and other towing accessories are added to your receiver hitch and are under 12” in length, it reduces load capacity by 25 percent, and if it is over 12” it reduces load capacity by 50 percent.
*Depending on the application, the product can include a combination of up to three qualified materials
