Using hauling accessories like extensions, cargo trays, bike racks, or other accessories that extend the load out from the trailer hitch, will significantly reduce the tongue weight capacity of your hitch system.
To estimate how your setup will affect tongue weight, we recommend using our Maximum Hitch Weight (Tongue Weight) Estimator before hauling your payload (cargo trays, bike racks, etc).

What are the weight ratings for this trailer hitch? The EcoHitch has a towing capacity of 2,000 pounds and a tongue weight rating of 300 pounds at the trailer ball. Always check your vehicle's factory tow rating, as it may be lower than the hitch rating.
Does installation require drilling or cutting? No, the EcoHitch features 100% bolt-on installation with no drilling required and meets national SAE J684 towing safety standards.
Will the hitch be visible on my WRX? The Stealth design features a completely concealed crosstube hidden behind the bumper, with only the removable 2-inch receiver visible when in use. When not towing or hauling, the receiver can be removed to make the hitch completely undetectable.

The EcoHitch for the 2008 - 2014 Suabru Impreza WRX STI is a bolt-on installation. If you are comfortable removing and reinstalling the rear bumper, you can install the EcoHitch.
