The EcoHitch for the 2015 - 2017 Honda Fit is a bolt-on installation. If you are comfortable removing and reinstalling the rear bumper, you can install the EcoHitch. But the end result is beautiful and sturdy. In the end I'm that much more attached to my hitch having been through the process together. A year in and Im still super happy with it. It has held the 2 bike rack super solid since the day I installed it. Heck, my wife just got the car stuck on a railroad tie and the hitch appears to have made it out in one piece.
The 2" receiver also allows me to not have to deal with adaptors and my bike rack, which I carry two electric mountain bikes on, fits perfectly tight... without any extra movement an adapter would undoubtedly cause.
BTW, I also ordered/installed all the parts needed to tow the whole rig behind my Class A motorhome. Super clean and as lightweight (saves fuel) as possible
