Bring the truck to our Kent, Washington facility and we can verify the vehicle configuration, check step and accessory interference, install and align the brackets, confirm the removable inserts operate correctly, torque the hardware to the application specifications, and verify the complete front and rear tiedown setup.

Pre-Load Verification

• Hardware: Verify all fasteners are torqued to the exact application specifications.

• Bracket clearance: Confirm brackets do not interfere with wiring, brake lines, body panels, steps or other installed equipment.

• Insert operation: Make sure each removable insert slides fully into the receiver and the pin and clip seat correctly.

• Complete system: Confirm the correct front pair, rear pair and four spring-loaded turnbuckles are installed before securing the camper.

Maintenance and Inspection

Inspect the tie-down system regularly and before travel. Follow the exact product instructions if they specify a different interval.

• Fasteners: Check for movement and confirm hardware remains properly torqued.

• Bracket-to-frame contact: Look for gaps, movement, fretting or abnormal wear.

• Insert and receiver: Inspect for deformation, corrosion, binding or excessive wear.

• Pin and clip: Confirm both are secure and replace damaged or corroded components.

• Turnbuckles: Check spring operation, tension and hardware condition according to the turnbuckle instructions.

Choosing the Right Torklift Tie Down Setup

A complete truck camper tie down system is more than one pair of brackets. Match all three parts before the first trip:

• Correct front tie downs: Use the front part number verified for the exact truck, bed and configuration.

• Correct rear tie downs: Use the rear part number verified for the exact truck, bed and configuration.

• Four spring-loaded turnbuckles: Use one spring-loaded turnbuckle at each camper corner to connect the camper anchor point to the frame-mounted tie down. Camper manufacturers generally recommend 300 pounds of tension per anchor point to protect the integrity of the anchor points. 

Do not substitute a rigid connection for the spring-loaded turnbuckle system. The spring-loaded design is intended to manage the dynamic movement that occurs between the truck and camper while traveling.
