The removable receiver adapter is convenient

When you want to use EcoHitch, simply attach the receiver adapter into the trailer hitch.  When you don’t want to use EcoHitch, remove the bolt and the receiver adapter.  It’s not complicated – it’s just a really convenient feature that helps make it plausible to put a trailer hitch on your FRS.

For as nifty as the removable receiver adapter feature is, there are three things our Scion FR-S trailer hitch will NOT do: 

1.    Require drilling into your FRS

EcoHitch is a 100 percent no-drill trailer hitch.  It bolts into preexisting holes in the FR-S frame and integrates into the structural integrity of the vehicle.

2.    Disrupt the underbody airflow of your vehicle

EcoHitch is designed to complement the underbody airflow of FR-S.  Weighing in at less than 25 pounds, it’s designed with the firm belief that the FR-S shouldn’t be slowed down by a trailer hitch.

3.    Negatively impact your ground clearance

EcoHitch’s crossbar is situated up and behind the FR-S bumper.  You don’t have to worry about the hitch bottoming out on speed bumps or steep inclines.
