Your Toyota Sienna is practically a superhero—family hauler by day, adventure enabler by weekend. With the EcoHitch, it gets its cape! Here’s a step-by-step guide to transform your Sienna into a towing champion while keeping things stress-free and even a little fun.

First, secure your Sienna by chocking the front wheels and lifting the rear high enough to access the underside. Then, pop the rear hatch, and let’s get those taillights out of the way. Remove two screws inside the taillight assembly and two more below in the body panel. Carefully push the taillights toward the back of the car and disconnect the electrical plugs. No superhero likes dangling wires—handle with care!

Next, tackle the push-in clips in the back wheel openings and the screws near the mud guards. (Driver side gets two screws; passenger side only one—lucky break!) Then, unclip the plastic panel behind the driver’s side rear wheel. Your Sienna is starting to loosen up—literally.
Time to tag a helper—removing the rear bumper cover is a two-person job. Gently pull outward and back on the bumper’s outer edges, working toward the center. Disconnect any wiring harnesses before setting the bumper aside. Treat it like the VIP it is—no scratches, please!
Peel back the metal tape on the factory cross member to access the retaining nuts. Say goodbye to the cross member—it’s not invited to this EcoHitch party.
(Skip to step 6 if you do not have a kick sensor on your vehicle) If your Sienna has a kick sensor, remove its plastic strip by taking out three Phillips screws. You’ll reinstall it later, but for now, it’s part of the makeover.
Mark the centerline of the bumper cover and measure out a section about 3 3/8" tall and 4 3/8" wide to cut out. Precision is key here—no freehand Picasso moments!
Ready for the main event? Reinstall the kick sensor, then position the hitch over the studs at the rear and thread on the OEM nuts loosely. Attach the driver and passenger support brackets using the provided hardware. Ensure everything is aligned and torque the bolts to the specified levels. If needed, trim the driver’s side rear plastic panel for clearance.
Reassemble your Sienna, snapping the bumper and lights back into place. Double-check that all lights are working and bolts are secure. Pro tip: Test the kick sensor to ensure it still works (hint: aim slightly to the driver’s side).

Congratulations, your Sienna is now towing-ready with its shiny new EcoHitch! Whether you’re hauling bikes, trailers, or gear for your next road trip, this upgrade unlocks a world of adventure.
