Recently, we had a customer bring a Chevy truck into the shop with unfortunately some extensive rust and damage to his factory hitch. We don’t know the exact circumstances that caused this, but we always suggest having more hitch than you need just in case and never going over your hitch weight rating. That way you know that you have all the strength you could need in a truck hitch and not compromise on safety.
