Recently, we had a customer bring a Chevy truck into the shop with unfortunately some extensive rust and damage to his factory hitch. We don’t know the exact circumstances that caused this, but we always suggest having more hitch than you need just in case and never going over your hitch weight rating. That way you know that you have all the strength you could need in a truck hitch and not compromise on safety.

Hitches should not be hanging down like that.

It was actually so rusted we had to cut it off!

Instead of having to deal with this kind of hassle of removing your old hitch or factory hitch, we suggest going with one of the best and beefiest hitches that is available: the Torklift International SuperHitch! The SuperHitch is available in 2,000 lbs tongue weight, 20,000 lbs weight distributing and the Magnum is capable of 3,000 lbs tongue weight, 30,000 lbs pull with weight distribution. Much stronger than the competition, the SuperHitch and SuperHitch Magnum are capable of towing pretty much anything you need (within your truck’s specified weight ratings). Here’s what it looks like installed on a Chevy truck:

Many applications don't require drilling, so you don't damage/change your frame

The SuperHitch comes with a patented dual receiver design with a 2" upper and lower receivers

Here’s a photo of the SuperHitch also installed on a Ford truck, just for fun:
