Every EcoHitch is finished with a high-impact powder coat

Every EcoHitch Torklift Central manufactures is built to last the life of your vehicle and stand up to the toughest roadway conditions you can throw at it.  EcoHitch is built above and beyond what you would normally expect from an aftermarket trailer hitch or a factory trailer hitch for that matter.

One of the many ways EcoHitch stands out among other trailer hitches is because we powder coat all our hitches in-house at our state of the art facility.

Here is how our powder coat makes EcoHitch as resilient as possible to a lifetime of rigorous use:

EcoHitch for 2015 Subaru Outback

Every EcoHitch makes a trip through our 320-foot powder coat conveyor line that puts a high impact protective seal on the hitches.  Housed in our 70,000 square foot manufacturing facility, EcoHitch goes through five stages of our powder coat process:

Stage 1
Sandblasting

When it comes to longevity, Surface preparation is preparation is critical. Sandblasting removes contaminants and even the smallest imperfections in the raw materials of the hitch.  This is done to ensure the high quality protective powder coat is able to adhere to the hitch as thoroughly by creating an abraded surface.

Stage 2
Eco-friendly wash

The seven stage wash cleanses away unnecessary materials blasted from the hitch during sandblasting with an eco-friendly wash cycle.

Stage 3
Pre-dry oven

The pre-dry oven not only dries the hitch after the eco-friendly wash, but also heats it to 320 degrees - the perfect temperature to bond with the powder coat.

Stage 4
Electro-static powder coating

As the powder coat sprays through the powder coat guns and on to the hitch, the powder coat material receives an electric charge that creates a magnetic attraction between the hitch and the powder coat.  The powder coat is drawn to the hitch in this process to ensure a full and thorough coating of the powder.

Stage 5
Cure oven

EcoHitch is heated to 420 degrees for 30 minutes to completely cure the powder coat to the hitch.  The process also bakes out moisture that can bubble up and cause cracks in the powder coat seal.
