Torklift Central Owner Jack Kay
meeting with Mayor Suzette Cooke

If you hadn’t heard about the Kent City Council and their meeting, then here is a statement Mayor Suzette Cooke made that sums up the night pretty well: “The word of the night is gobble, gobble, gobble.” We couldn’t have said it any better Mayor! Announced with other City of Kent events, on Oct. 20 was the official Proclamation of the 5th Annual Kent Turkey Challenge in Kent, WA.

Below is the official proclamation from Mayor Suzette Cooke, the video and some photos of the meeting and more information about the 5th Annual Kent Turkey Challenge.

Here is what Jack Kay, Owner of Torklift Central, had to say about our appreciation of having the Proclamation every year for this holiday food drive:

Jack Kay speaking about the
Annual Kent Turkey Challenge

“With the continued support of the Proclamation, which is very key in facilitating this opportunity, and to lend the credibility. It’s been instrumental in bringing about 70 different businesses and organizations that are now involved. In making this Proclamation and supporting this effort you are changing lives.” –Jack Kay, Owner of Torklift Central

The Official City of Kent Proclamation

There’s nothing greater than being able to give and make an impact in someone’s life and that’s what we aim to do with this Kent food drive working in conjunction with the Kent Food Bank and 70 other businesses throughout Kent. An official City of Kent event due to the Proclamation, the 5th Annual Kent Turkey Challenge is a great way for businesses to do charity and make donations while embarking in a friendly competition against each other to see who can raise the most.

Help Us Make 2015 Out Best Year Yet
Torklift Central asks for your support to make this the most effective Kent food drive to date. 100 percent of the proceeds go to the Kent Food Bank and our goal this year is to raise $25,000 and 10,000 lbs. of food. As a community service, the Annual Kent Turkey Challenge is an opportunity for us to make a lasting positive impact in the lives of families that are searching for hope during the holiday as well as bringing the community together in support of a good cause.

“The people that go to the Kent Food Bank a lot of times are hurting but to be able to provide a turkey dinner in honor, respect and generating hope for these families, it’s a tremendous honor to receive this (Proclamation) and represent this.” –Jack Kay

It’s not too late to join the challenge! Although the food drive officially began on Oct. 5, businesses and individuals can still join in on the fundraising. With your help, we can reach our fifth anniversary goal that every family in our community should not have to go hungry during the holidays. We want to make sure that each of these families is provided a Thanksgiving dinner.
