A community effort to help support the Kent Food Bank, the 5th Annual Kent Turkey Challenge has been going on since Oct. 5. A friendly competition to collect and raise the most food and monetary donations, Pacific Power Group has been a leader of the competition from the beginning. As a part of the last week and end of the Annual Kent Turkey Challenge, we want to highlight our leaders and sponsors. Pacific Power Group ended the completion in the top five for both food and monetary donations!

Established in 1958 in Portland, Oregon as the Pacific Diesel Power Company, Pacific Power Group primarily handled diesel engines for truck and generators for multiple applications. Throughout their history they have continued to experience tremendous growth and have added numerous product lines as well as expanded to Washington, Alaska and Hawaii. In April of 2014, the leadership team changed their name to Pacific Power Group to reflect the wide range of their business lines and services.

They have always had a focus of being powered by people including their customers, co-workers, vendors and business partners. Dedicated to passionately achieving their objectives and setting new standards, they certainly have for the Annual Kent Turkey Challenge this year. They have greatly contributed to the competition throughout the years, and this year is no different. They were able to collect 583 cans of food and $2,522 for the Kent Food Bank as a part of the 5th Annual Kent Turkey Challenge.

100 percent of the proceeds go to the Kent Food Bank. The challenge is a great way to have a friendly competition with fellow Kent, WA businesses while helping out the community. The Annual Kent Turkey Challenge is an opportunity for us to make a lasting positive impact in the lives of families for Thanksgiving and during the holidays, as well as bringing the community together in support of a good cause. We were able to meet our monetary donations goal and came very close to our food goal. Overall were were able to collect $25,173 and 8,140 cans of food for families in need in Kent.
